Targetted at the selfie crazy audience, Asus of Taiwan has launched today selfie-focussed smartphone -ZenFone Selfie at Computex 2015 in Taipei. This phone will be available in vibrant colors such as Pure White, Chic Pink, Aqua Blue, Glacier Gray, Sheer Gold, and Glamour Red.
The USP of Zenfone Selfie is its front and rear 13MP PixelMaster cameras with dual-color, dual LED Real Tone flash for capturing selfies in high resolution. The rear camera also comes with a large f/2.0 aperture lens and laser auto-focus technology to ensure near-instant focusing for clear, sharp pictures — even in low-light conditions where traditional cameras struggle. ZenFone Selfie also includes the ZenUI Beautification mode, Selfie Panorama mode etc.
The Zenfone Selfie features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS LCD display with wide 178-degree viewing angle and pixel density of 403ppi. The display is powered by Asus TruVivid technology and also incorporates Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection against scratches.
The ZenFone Selfie is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB/3GB of RAM plus storage options of 16 and 32GB extendable to 64GB via microSD card. This smartphone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Asus ZenUI based on top. It is packed with a 3000mAh battery.
On the connectivity front, the ZenFone Selfie has options of 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, GPRS/ EDGE etc. This phone has dimensions of 156.5×77.2×10.8mm and its weight is 170 grams.
Asus has not revelaed the price of this device and also not disclosed the roll-out plan of it.
