Asus has formally launched today Zenfone Max smartphone, which was unveiled in the month of August in India. The USP of this smartphone is its massive battery of 5000mAh and is targetted for those who demand a long-lasting battery life and do not wish to carry with them power charger.
The ZenFone Max is priced Rs. 9,999 and its pre-bookings will open at 12 pm today on Amazon.in and Flipkart.com. This phone will also be sold at ASUS Exclusive Stores and by other retailers from the second fortnight of January.
The ZenFone Max comes with a powerful 5000 mAH battery which is designed to require fewer charging cycles for making it last longer and more efficient. The lithium-polymer battery, when fully charged, is claimed to offer 37.6 hours of 3G talk time or 32.5 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing or 72.9 hours of music playback or 22.6 hours of video playback.
The ZenFone Max will compete somewhat with Gionee Marathon M4, which also is packed with 5000mAh battery and which is priced Rs. 15,499. The huge battery of ZenFone Max can also be used to charge other devices. This smartphone is sleek device and has thickness of just 5.2mm.
The ZenFone Max sports a 5.5-inch display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be extended upto 64GB via microSD card. It is also equipped with a 13-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera with laser auto-focus plus dual-tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper.
It offers connectivity options of Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 OS with ZenUI on it.
