Due to trade mark issue with an Indian company, Asus is launching their latest flagship Zenfone 6 as Asus 6Z in India on 19th June for which they have rolled out media invites. You may recall that Asus had introduced Zenfone 6 in Spain last month. Due to High Court, Delhi order not to use Zen or Zenfone for Asus phones, Asus has renamed its phone as Asus 6Z.
On the specifications front, the Asus 6Z sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio having Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It is powered by
Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB of storage and alternatively with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB / 256GB storage which can be extended up to 1TB with microSD card. This phone is packed with 5000mAh battery with QuickCharge 4.0 fast charging.
The Asus 6Z is armed with motorized rotating camera module which has two cameras of
48MP with Dual LED Flash, f/1.79 aperture, 1/2? Sony IMX586 sensor with features of Laser AF, EIS and secondary camera of 13MP with 125-degree ultra-wide lens, f/2.4 aperture. The rear cameras can be flipped to work as front cameras for taking selfies.
This is Dual Sim supporting phone with dedicated slot for microSD card. This phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with layer of ZENUI 6. For security, this phone has fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature. This phone offers connectivity options of Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS and USB Type-C etc.
Going by the specifications of Asus 6Z, it is going to be strong challenger to OnePlus 7 Pro which has been launched at starting price of Rs. 48,999. If 6Z is priced less than 40K then there will be very interesting battle between this phone and OnePlus 7 Pro.
