Asus of Taiwan is participating in a big way in the annual Computex 2013 trade show which will kick-start in Taiwan tomorrow. At a media event today in Taiwan, Asus has showcased Transformer Pad Infinity, MemoPad HD 7, MemoPad FHD 10 tablets, FonePad FHD6 phablet, and Transformer Book Trio.
The Transformer Pad Infinity is powered by 1.9GHz Tegra 4 processor. This tablet comes with a keyboard dock and can be converted into a laptop when required. It sports a 10.1-inch IPS display with 2560x1600p resolution and is apcked with 2GB RAM under the hood. This is equipped with a 5MP camera on the rear, while a 1.2MP camera is placed in the front. This device has 32GB internal storage and has connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 3.0 and microSD card slot.
The MeMO Pad HD 7 is a 7-inch tablet that is powered by an ARM Cortex A7 quad-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. It sports a 1280×800 pixels IPS display. The tablet is equipped with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera that can capture 720p HD videos and optional 5-megapixel rear camera. The tablet will be available in 8GB and 16GB internal storage versions and will have a microSD card slot. The tablet also boasts of stereo speakers with enhanced sound through the integrated ASUS SonicMaster audio technology.The tablet will be available in Black, White, Pink and Green colours. The tablet is 10.8mm thick and weighs 302 grams. The tablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The 8GB version of the MeMO Pad HD 7 will cost $129, while the 16GB version has been priced at $149. The tablet will be available starting July 2013.
The MemoPadFHD 10 is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core processor and has a 10-inch IPS display, with 178-degree wide viewing angle and 1920x1200p resolution. It comes in 16 and 32GB storage options and offers 5GB free cloud storage by Asus. The stereo speakers of this tablet feature SonicMaster audio technology. The tablet is equipped with 1.2MP front-facing camera and a 5MP rear camera with autofocus. Offering battery life of 10 hours, this tablet has Wi-Fi connectivity. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The tablet is 9.5mm thick and weighs 580 grams. The tablet is available in Royal Blue, Silk White, and Vivid Pink colours. There is no word on the availability and pricing for this tablet.
Asus FonePad Note FHD6 sports a 6-inch, 1080p Super IPS+ display, and is powered by 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM. Like Samsung’s Galaxy Note series, Asus FonePad Note too comes with a stylus. It will run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). As per the company Asus FonePad Note FHD6 comes with an “incredible narrow frame”, which makes it easy to use with just one hand. This phablet is equipped with 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front camera. The phablet also packs in front facing stereo speakers with SonicMaster sound. Asus FonePad Note FHD6 supports 3G and HSPA+ connectivity options but does not have LTE support.
Asus has not disclosed its price and when this device will be available.
The Transformer Book Trio is Android and Windows running hybrid, which can work as a desktop, laptop as well as a tablet. This device has 11.6-inch detachable display. The PC Station dock has a 4th generation Intel i7 processor, keyboard and 750GB hard drive. It also serves as a charger for the tablet for extended battery life. In tablet mode, the device boasts of a 2GHz Intel Atom processor and a 16:9 aspect ratio IPS display with full HD resolution and up to 64GB storage.
Asus has shown its intent to focus its energies on tablet and smartphone segment, which is expanding at very fast pace and in the coming months, they are going to be more aggressive with their marketing and promotional activities.
