At a media preview event today in New Delhi, Asus has announced three new smartphones for the Indian market – Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Zenfone 2 Selfie, Zenfone 2 Laser. These three smartphones will be officially launched with price details in Zen Festival, which will take place in New Delhi on 6th August. For this reason, Asus has not disclosed today the prices of these three devices.
All the three variants showcased today have same design and look as of previous iteration of ZenFone 2, which were launched in India in April this year.
The Asus Zenfone Deluxe 2 has same hardware features as of ZenFone 2 and only difference is its back cover, which is made of premium polygonal design in white, blue and red colours. This design gives it crystal effect and its texture offers a good grip. This phone will be available in 64GB internal storage variant, which can be further extended upto 128GB via microSD card. Asus will also introduce 128GB variant later.
Zenfone 2 Deluxe features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1280x1920p) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is driven by a 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel Atom processor Z3580 with 4GB RAM. It is equipped with a 13MP PixelMaster rear camera with f/2.0 wide-aperture lens, and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies.
This phone supports Dual-SIM and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with customisation of Asus ZenUI. It is packed with a massive 3000mAh battery to address the problem of frequent charging, and will be good enough for full day use on single charge, as claimed by the company.
ZenFone 2 Deluxe is capable of supporting 4G/LTE connectivity with downloadable speed of upto 150Mbps.
The Asus Zenfone 2 Selfie as its name implies is selfie-focussed smartphone targetted for selfie crazy audience. It is equipped with 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture lens and 13MP front snapper with f/2.0 aperture. These cameras come with Toshiba sensor, laser autofocus and dual-LED flash.
The ZenFone 2 Selfie sports a 5.5-inch (1080x1920p) LCD display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection and supports Dual-SIM. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB/ 3GB RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage with the capacity to extend it to 64GB. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with a new version of Asus ZenUI.
This phone is also compatible with 4G LTE with downloadable speed of upto 150Mbps.
Besides regular colors of white and black, the ZenFone 2 will also be available in Pink and Blue colour options.
The Zenfone 2 Laser comes with laser auto-focus to justify its name. It has a 5.5-inch HD (1280x720p) display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is a Dual-SIM device and also runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with overlapping of new version of Asus ZenUI. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor in combination with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. This phone gets its juice from 3000mAh battery.
This phone is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture lens and laser Auto Focus having 0.3 second focus time and dual-LED flash. It also houses a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture lens.
The Zenfone 2 Laser also supports 4G LTE networks with downloadable speed of upto 150Mbps.
Although, Asus has not officially revealed the prices of these smartphones but these devices are expected to be priced as under:
Zenfone 2 Deluxe – Rs. 23,999
Zenfone 2 Selfie – Around Rs. 17,000
Zenfone 2 Laser – Around Rs. 13,000
