ASUS today announced that after receiving an overwhelming response for pre-orders on its latest Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5, the company has changed the sales date to September 8th, 2015, as opposed to the set date of September 19th, 2015.
ASUS had launched three devices in India in the month of August – Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Zenfone 2 Selfie and Zenfone 2 Laser. Zenfone 2 Laser is priced Rs. 9,999 and comes in four colors — Pure Black, Ceramic White, Glamour Red, and Sheer Gold.
Early this week, ASUS had confirmed that it received 30K pre-orders for its latest line of Zenfones, with Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 emerging as a clear consumer favourite. 10K units of Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 were ordered on the third day and the company saw a complete stock-out of the device.

Our endeavour has always been to ‘empower luxury to everyone’ and Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 is priced in a way that targets masses with its high-end features. Today we have a reach in 660 cities through Flipkart and we aim to achieve 5% market share in the country by next year.”
The Zenfone 2 Laser comes with laser auto-focus to justify its name. It has a 5.5-inch HD (1280x720p) display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is a Dual-SIM device and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with overlapping of new version of Asus ZenUI. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor in combination with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. This phone gets its juice from 3000mAh battery.
This phone is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture lens and laser Auto Focus having 0.3 second focus time and dual-LED flash. It also houses a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture lens.
The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser also supports 4G LTE networks with downloadable speed of upto 150Mbps.
