Canada based struggling BlackBerry had quietly announced its arrival in phablet segment in mid September and unveiled its latest BlackBerry Z30 with 5 inch display, running on its latest 10 OS version 10.2, which is full-touch smartphone. Now, BlackBerry is bringing this phablet to India on 24th October. We have deduced this from the fact that BlackBerry has sent out media invite for 24th October in which they have stated that they would be unveiling latest offering built to keep you moving. They have not mentioned in their media invite that they would be unveiling Z30.From this tagline, it can be assumed that BlackBerry Z30 phablet would be unveiled as this is the latest offering from the stable of BlackBerry. There is other basis of our assumption. BlackBerry has recently dropped the prices of its other premium smartphones like BlackBerry Z10 etc, in India. This could be another reason for making way for the next flagship device and that is Z30.
The Blackberry Z30 comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.7 GHz processor with quad-core graphics. The Z30 has 2GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage and comes with micro SD memory card slot for expaning its internal storage. The device is equipped with 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. This smartphone is packed with a 2880 mAh battery, the largest battery ever built into a BlackBerry smartphone. BlackBerry claims that this battery will last up to 25 hours of mixed use.
The new Blackberry Z30 has other following key features :
- BlackBerry Priority Hub – is the one place to manage all your conversations and notifications. It collects priority messages across your email, social networking and other accounts and gives you instant access to the conversations most important to you to help you stay organized and focused on the most important tasks.
- Stereo Audio and BlackBerry Natural Sound – The BlackBerry Z30 smartphone comes with stereo speakers and BlackBerry Natural Sound is new technology exclusive to BlackBerry and part of BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2 that makes BBM Voice and BBM Video chats sound more natural and realistic. BlackBerry Natural Sound lets you hear nuances and variations in tone, making conversations sound like you’re in the same room.
- New Antenna Technology – The BlackBerry Z30 smartphone features BlackBerry’s new generation antenna technology that dynamically tunes reception to give you better connectivity in low signal areas.
The BlackBerry Z30 will face stiff competition from recently launched flagship smartphones of Samsung, LG and Sony, and these devices are Galaxy Note 3 with 5.7 inch display, LG G2 with 5.2 inch display, and water/dust-proof Xperia Z1 with 5 inch display. The success of Z30 will depend upon its price, which should be competitive and attractive. BlackBerry is famous for launching its new devices at very high prices and it is high time that they keep the price in control to move the maximum boxes in the festive season.
