The budget Indian handset maker Celkon has launched its Campus A35K smartphone which will run the latest Android KitKa 4.4.2 OS, and which shall be available exclusively on the leading online marketplace Snapdeal.com, for Rs. 2,999. This smartphone is available in blue and white colors.
This is the cheapest Android smartphone available so far running on KitKat OS. Android 4.4 (Kitkat) is the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, and the majority of Indian smartphones in budget segment come with earlier version of Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS.
The Campus A35K features a 3.5-inch display with a HVGA (320×480 pixels) resolution, and is powered by a 1GHz processor (unspecified chipset) single core coupled with 256MB of RAM and 512MB inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 32 GB by using microSD card. This is Dual-SIM dual standby smartphone and is equipped with a 3.2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and also houses a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
The Celkon Campus A35K supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and AGPS connectivity options along with 3G connectivity. This device measures 119mm x 63mm x 10.7mm and weighs 102 grams.
With the launch of the Campus A35K running the KitKat OS, Celkon has become the first company to bring the latest Android OS experience on its very economically priced smartphone. In the days to come, more and more Indian brands will follow this trend and we can expect more devices to be announced running the latest KitKat OS.
