Chongqing International Mobile Phone Expo Took Place in China From 1st To 3rd December

Chongqing is fast developing major industrial city in southwest China. Administratively, it is one of China’s four direct-controlled municipalities. It is approximately 1400kms from Guangzhou port city which is situated in northwest of Hong Kong on the Pearl River.

To promote mobile phones business of this province, shoujibao.cn organises Internatonal Mobile Expo every year. I have the opportunity to attend this year’s Mobile Expo in Chongqing which is second in row and takes place every year. This Expo took place in Chongqing Nanping International Convention and Exhibition Center on the fourth floor in very spacious area.

This year the organisers of the Expo, shoujibao.cn had invited more than 200 international visitors from all over the world comprising of wholesalers of mobile phones, heads of mobile companies and media persons like me to experience this fair for business promotion of Chinese products. The organisers of the Expo had given Red Carpet Welcome to the international visitors.

This year’s theme of the Chongqing International Mobile Phone Expo was explosion of Full screen, Artifical Intelligence, Biometric and employment of 5G in the smartphones.

In this Expo, leading Chinese smartphones companies such as Vivo, Oppo, Gionee, ZTE, Nubia, Meizu, Yota, Elephone, Lephone, Leagoo; various ODMs such as Keimo, Sugar, Gocan etc and ancillary equipemtns and parts manufacturers also participated and showed their latest products and innovations. Besides this, many manufacturers of smartphones display also exhibited their latest edge to edge displays and prominent among them were COE Display, Shenzhen PengXinJietong Technology, Guang Tai OPT-Display Tech to name a few.

For the smartphones, Vivo demonstrated their latest range of Vivo X20 smartphone; Oppo was showing R11S smartphones; Gionee had on display their complete range of latest Full Display smartphones whereas the Meizu showcased their latest Pro 7 Plus smartphone.

The OEM/ODMs also showcased their latest innovations in the field of smartphones and on display were phones with Dual cameras and bezel-less displays. This was the ideal paltform for those who wanted to see the latest develOpments in mobile industry and wanted to negotiate with the exhibitors for imports in their respective countries.

Besides the Expo, one full day i.e on 2nd December was dedicated to the 5G Summit in which other aspects of upcoming innovations such as Artificial Intelligence, Biometric Recognition, Full Screen Display, AMOLED Displays, were covered in great details by the industry leaders.

CEOs of leading companies such as Vivo, Oppo, Gionee etc. spoke in details about importance of 5G for which technical giants like Huawei, ZTE, China Mobiles are working at great speed and this technology will be ready to be employed in smartphones by 2019-2020. Artificial Intelligence and Facial Recognition is another big innovation and in future, you will see the major Chinese companies employing this technology in their smartphones. Infact, Vivo, Huawei and Oppo have already started using this technology in their smartphones and in the coming months, I am quite confident that their smartphones will have Artificial Intelligence and Biometric technologies as standard features.

To encourage the Chinese participants based on their standings, Global Mobile Festival was also organised by the organisers of the Expo where the participants were given awards followed by gala dinner at the Convention Center.

This year’s 10 best mobile phone brands honors was bagged by Huawei followed by Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Lenovo, ZTE, Gionee, Tecno, Meizu and TCL. Similarly, new brands awards were given to OnePlus, Yota, Lephone, Sugar, Leagoo to name a few. Awards were also given in other categories.

Overall, it was an insightful Expo and the local and international visitors have the golden opportunity to see the latest trends in mobile phones industry being implemented by Chinese companies and hear the future plans from Chinese industry leaders. It was very well organised event and English interpreters were provided by the organisers so that none of the visitiors have any problem while communicating with Chinese represetatvies of the companies.
