LG’s much anticipated and ultimate premium smartphone was launched yesterday at a mega event in Mumbai. The great LG G4 was unveiled by great and Super Star Amitabh Bachchan amidst thunderous applause from around 2000 gathered guests and I was one of them.
Of late, we have seen many flagship devices of multi-national companies, but the G4 launched yesterday has many firsts, which will compell you to buy this device if your budget is in the range of around Rs. 45K. The following screen shot sums up all the USP of LG G4:
If you are tired of using your smartphone having the same design in all the variants and looking for different design using elegant and mastepiece of craftmanship, then you definitely require G4 as its back cover is made of handcrafted, genuine full grain leather to choose from six beautiful colors. If you do not want this leather back cover then you have the option to use metallic cover which also comes with the phone.
Besides unique back cover option, the G4 has full metal designs, which is defined by the Slim Arc, and has been inspired by LG G Flex 2 smartphone, which is not as curvaceous as was G Flex 2 but is subtly curvaceous. More than just a design accent, Slim Arc offers 20 percent better durability than a flat smartphone in face-down drops and gives the smartphone a more comfortable and secure feel in the hand.
The LG G4 is the first smartphone to feature LG Display’s new 5.5-inch IPS Quantum Display (2560 x 1440, 538ppi), which is claimed to offer 20 percent greater color reproduction, 25 percent improvement in brightness and 50 percent greater contrast. For a lay man, it reproduces sharp, vibrant and vivid images and you would love to see HD movies and other HD content on your screen to have the feeling of watching them in a theatre. Although the screen size is 5.5 inches but it does not look odd to carry it in your pocket and you can comfortably use the phone.
And if you have a passion to click images and make videos for your professsional work or for fun’s sake then you need not carrry a DSLR camera, the G4 will prove two-in-device for such enthusiasts as it is equipped with 16MP rear camera, and a wide F1.8 aperture lens that allows 80 percent more light to reach the sensor. This camera incorporates Color Spectrum Sensor (CSS), which create images that are as close to what one would see with the naked eye.
For selfie crazy audience, the G4 will prove to be the ultimate solution to exploit their hobby of clicking selfies in different poses without the hassle of adjusting the front camera quite frequently. This phone houses an 8MP front-facing camera with very interesting Gesture Interval Shot feature. By your gestures of hand, you can take four shots in different poses at the rate of one shot in one second. Moreover, with this feature, you can trigger the shutter by opening and closing your hand twice in front of the camera.
Besides above features, the G4 is powered by very solid hardware to enable you to perform the above functions and run your favourite apps and games without any lag. It is driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Processor with X10 LTE. It provides sufficient storage options as it comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, and if it is not enough for you then you have the option to extend it to 2TB via microSD card.
This phone runs on Android Lollipop Os and is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery, which should be quite sufficient. We are not able to comment about the battery life unless we use the phone for longer period of time. We shall be able to give our judgement about battery life in the days to come.
Overall, the G4 is not only smart device but a great device from the point of view of its display, camera and design features. Of late, LG has set the bar high not only for itself but for other handsets makers to come out with advanced hardware and design features. The LG G4 is for those who wants to possess trendy and high-powered device in their hands.
