After the flagship Elife E8, which is camera focussed smartphone, Gionee of China has launched now mid-ranged Gionee Elife S6 in China. Priced at CNY 1,699, which roughly works out to Rs. 18,000 in Indian currency without taxes, this phone will go on sale in China from 22nd November. Gionee has not announced when they will be bringing this device in India, but it will not be very far as Gionee phones are well received in India.
Gionee has changed the design of new Elife S6 to be at par with trend of metal-cladded devices. Gionee Elife S6 does not have a glass black design and instead dons a sleek and slim metal unibody design with thickness of 6.9mm. This phone comes in two colors – Gold and Platinum.
From the hardware perspective, the Gionee Elife S6 features a 5.5 inch HD (720×1280 pixels resolution) Amoled display. This phone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Gionee’s AMIGO OS 3.1 on the top. This phone is driven by 64-bit octa-core MediaTek, 1.3GHz MT6753 processor clubbed with Mali T-720 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It has 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded upto 128GB via microSD support.
On the photographic front, the Elife S6 is equipped with a 13 MP autofocus rear camera and also houses a 5MP front camera for selfies. The capability of this camera has been enhanced which boasts of many feattures such as night mode, panorama mode, burst mode etc., and full-HD resolution video recording feature.
This phone is fuelled by a massive 3,150mAh battery. Its connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE, USB Type-C connector, Wi-Fi, and GPS. This phone comes with a hybrid SIM card slot, which means you can use both the slots for two SIM cards or the second slot for microSD card for expanding the memory capacity. The Elife S6 is light weight device as it has weight of 147 grams and its dimensions are : 151.9×74.6×6.9mm.
Gionee Elife S6 looks very impressive on its features and if this phone is priced below Rs. 20,000 in India when it is launched then it will stand a very good chance to be on the prospective buyers’s option list.
