Since its operations in India in 2013, Gionee of China has progressed very well in highly competitive smartphone Indian market. To take its success story further, Gionee today announced the expansion of its offline retail channel through its collaboration with India’s leading Modern Retail partners PAN India.

To reach out to its customes in every nook and corner of the country and to give them first hand experience of their devices, Gionee has partnered with leading retail players including Spice, The Mobile Store, Mobiliti World, Jumbo Electronics, Croma Retail & Planet M. Nowonwards, Gionee’s complete range of mobile phones will be available across 1000+ stores and the company aims to sell 35000+ additional devices every month immediately and scale it up at a constant pace in the coming future.

Commenting on the association Mr. Arvind Vohra, Country CEO and MD, Gionee India said, “Indian smartphone market is growing at a rapid pace and this association is our effort to increase our presence and making our handsets readily accessible to our customers anywhere and everywhere. We are glad to partner with the biggest names of the retail industry to officially sell our devices. Our consumers can now walk into any of these retail outlets and experience a Gionee smartphone. Through this move we look at increasing our sale by over 10% percent in the coming year”.

Right from its inception in India, Gionee has been faithful with its retail partners and has not been lured by the advent of e-commerce players to sell its devices through them. Till now, Gionee was selling its smartphones through its exclusive brand stores, shop-in-shops and the company’s e-store. With the currrent set-up, Gionee has been driving impressive sales and the tie-up with the modern retail outlets will scale up the availability of Gionee handsets and will go on to compliment the overall sales of the company.

According to Gionee, the company has been rapidly expanding its footprint in India by opening brand stores and aims to open 250 brand stores in next one year. The company also has 800 service centers up and running and aims to have 1000 by end 2015. Gionee claims to have six million users in India and enjoy 3.9% market share in India.
