Good News For Samsung Smartphones Patrons In India

Year 2013 has brought good news for Samsung enthusiasts, who could not possess Samsung smartphones due to price constraints. Samsung has cut the prices of its majority of popular smartphones with immediate effect. Samsung has dropped the prices of Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Ace Duos.

Samsung’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S III, which was launched in May 2012 for Rs. 43,180, was retailing for Rs. 34,900 in September 2012, is currently available for Rs. 31,990. Similarly, Samsung Galaxy Note, which was retailing for Rs. 29,990 from September on-wards, is now available for Rs. 27,500.

The 4-inch Samsung Galaxy S Duos which was launched in September for Rs. 17,900 is available for Rs. 14,900 after the price revision. This smartphone features 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel rear camera and VGA front camera. It runs on Android 4.0.

Lastly, Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is now retailing for Rs. 10,900. This smartphone was launched in India in the month of June for Rs. 15,090. It is a dual-SIM smartphone, which has a 3.5-inch TFT touch screen display with a 320×480 pixel resolution. Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos is powered by 832 MHz processor, has 512MB RAM and 3GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

Another cheerful news for Samsung patrons in India is that the recently announced 5-inch Galaxy Grand Android smartphone is expected to be launched in India around 17th of January and will be priced around Rs. 25,000.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand runs Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor. The phone has an 8 megapixel camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. The 5-inch WVGA (800×480) screen is of the TFT LCD variety. The Galaxy Grand will be available in two versions, a dual SIM version  and a single SIM version. The dual SIM variant will be made available first.

However, there is no news about arrival of Samsung Galaxy S III Mini in India, which was launched three months ago. Hopefully, this device will touch Indian shores sometimes in February, before start of MWC.
