Haier, based in China and one of the largest Home Appliances & Consumer Electronics brands worldwide has been honored with ‘Product of the Year’ award for its new Bottom Mounted Refrigerator, in India. The ‘Product of the Year’ is an international standard of consumer recognition and is the largest consumer voted award. It highlights unique innovations and rewards the best customer centric product innovations across categories, as stated by the company in its press release.
Haier Bottom Mounted Refrigerator has won ‘Product of the Year’ award in the refrigerator category resulting through a multi-step process which initiated with a judging panel conducting extensive review tests of the product, which was followed by a door-to-door research facilitated by Nielsen, the world’s largest research company, with 18,000 consumers in over 24 markets in India. The survey was conducted keeping into consideration consumers’ understanding of the product and its appeal to the users, adds the statement of the company.
According to Haier, they pioneered the concept of Bottom Mounted refrigerators in India, way back in 2006, when the company introduced the first range of BMRs with the less frequently used freezer at the bottom and more frequently used refrigerator section on the top. Since then the brand has constantly innovated and improvised on the concept to bring in value for its much cherished customers. Haier launched its campaign “Jhukna Mat” to re-inforce their belief to eliminate the need to bend unnecessarily to access the more frequently used items in the refrigerator.
