Huawei’s online brand, Honor has got one more smartphone for mid-segment and this time it is Honor 8. This phone has unibody design of metal and glass and will be available at Rs. 29,999 in Pearl White, Sapphire Blue and Sunrise Gold colors. The other USP of Honor 8 is its Dual-camera set-up, fingerprint scanner on the back for multiple actions and USB-C type port.
The Honor 8 has good appearance as it has round metal edges and for protection, it has 2.5D glass at the front and back panel.
On the specifications front, the Honor 8 sports a 5.2 inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) LTPS LCD display having pixel density of 423ppi. Under the hood is Huawei’s own 16 nanometer Kirin 950 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage extendable to 128GB via microSD card.
Like the recently launched Huawei P9, this phone is also mounted with two 12MP rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, Laser autofocus but these are not of Leica brand of Germany. This phone also houses an 8MP front camera for selfies.
This phone supports hybrid Dual-SIM and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 UI. The fingerprint scanner also works as physical button and performs multiple functions such as taking photos, recording video, receiving phone calls etc.
This phone gets its juice from a 3000mAh non-removable battery. It offers connectivity options of 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and NFC etc.
