HOOQ,  a start-up joint venture established in January 2015 by Singtel, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros, has forayed into Indian market with its Video-On-Demand service. This ad-free service will kick off in India from June at subscription of  Rs. 199 a month.

The salient feature of HOOQ video-on-demand service is that it permits unlimited streaming anytime, anywhere, on any internet connected device – smartphone, tablet and computer. The content provided is ad-free and hence no interruptions and distractions from advertising messages. This service provide internet bandwidth indicator to assess real time internet connectivity and offline viewing is also possible when internet access is not available. Moreover, this service provide unlimited access on up to 5 separate internet-enabled devices and upto 2 simultaneous streams on separate devices.

HOOQ boasts of the biggest library of premium Hollywood blockbusters and all-time favourites – over 5,000 movies and TV series. HOOQ has extensive range of Hollywood studio partners including Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Disney, Dreamworks, Miramax etc. Hollywood movies include Harry Potter, Spider-Man and Iron Man and Pulp Fiction, and popular TV series include Nikita, The Shield, Friends, Lost and Grey’s Anatomy.

For Indian audience, HOOQ offers an extensive range of over 10,000 Indian film and TV favourites. HOOQ has partnered with the country’s top studios, including YRF, UTV Disney, Rajshri, Reliance, Shemaroo, Sri Balaji, AP International, Whacked Out Media and over 50 other studios.
