To catch up with emerging trends of touch enabled and mobile devices, US based Hewlett-Packard(HP) today launched a slew of touch-enabled notebook, two-in-ones and all-in-one PC for the Indian market.
The products launched today by HP offer affordable touch technology, multi operating system (OS) options among others targeting consumers who are looking for products that offer them a seamless integration in the office, home as well as on the move.
“People today demand extreme mobility and performance in their computing devices, to access and create content effortlessly anytime and anywhere,” HP India Consumer Product Category PPS Director Ketan Patel said at the launch event in New Delhi.
The HP SlateBook x2
This is a 10.1-inch tablet that runs on the Android Jelly Bean operating system 4.2.2, and comes pre-installed with Google’s suite of apps, including Google Now, Gmail and YouTube. This tablet can be converted to the notebook with its removable screen. By releasing the magnetic hinge, one can move elegantly between the two form factors- tablet and notebook PC. It is powered by a 1.80GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, and is equipped with 2GB RAM and 64GB SSD storage. It has dual battery system—one battery in the base and one in the tablet-which will enable the user to switch from notebook to tablet and back, even while on the go. The price of this hybrid device is Rs. 39,990 and will be available in India from 1st week of August.
The HP Split x2
This two-in-one detatchable PC has a 13.3 inch diagonal HD display and is powered by an Intel Core processor. It runs on Windows 8 os. Audio on the Split x2 is handled by Beats Audio. Like the SlateBook x2, the Split x2 has a dual-battery setup with a battery pack in the keyboard as well as in the tablet. The Split x2 also has a 2 megapixel HP TrueVision full HD webcam and the HP ClickPad for multitouch and gesture controls. It is priced at Rs 64,990 and will be available from first week of August.
Using advanced multitouch technology, the HP ENVY Rove is HP’s first mobile All-in-One PC, which runs on Windows 8. It has a 10-point touch enabled 20-inch IPS display, which enable user to enjoy multimedia content and get unique experience of playing games on it with its ease of usability and laying it flat. This device is powered by a 4th generation Intel Core processor and Intel HD graphics chip. Audio is handled by Beats Audio. It is priced at INR 69,990 and will be available by the end of this month.
The HP Pavillion 11 Touch Smart Notebook
This new Ultrabook has a 11.6-inch display with up to 10-point finger gesture support. It runs on Windows 8. It has a touch of sophistication and style with its two-tone look that features an Ano silver lid finish that opens to reveal a midnight black metal interior. It is priced at INR 31,990 and will be available from next week.
The HP Envy TouchSmart 14
This is another ultrabook from the stable of HP. The company claims that this can run for nine hours on its powerful battery. With dual speakers, and a subwoofer, the HP ENVY TouchSmart 14 is designed for the best sounding, richest audio available on a PC. It is ideal for gaming thanks to NVIDIA discrete graphics and 2GB of video memory. Its price is INR 64,990, and will be available by end of July.
The HP Slate 21 All-in-One
This device has a detachable 21.5-inch display that can be used as a tablet and runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS. When connected to the main computer part, it runs on Windows 8. It has features like TrueVision HD webcam and Wi-Fi Direct, which enables users to share videos, photos and data between devices without the need for a network connection. It is packed with a powerful Tegra 4 quad-core NVIDIA processor, as well as an intuitive optical touchscreen with true pinch and zoom functionality. The Slate 21 costs Rs 24,990 and will be available from 15th August onwards.
