HTC One Max Phablet With Fingerprint Scanner Launched

HTC of Taiwan has joined the bandwagon of phablets and announced today its first big screen smartphone HTC One Max, with 5.9 inch HD display, popularly known as phablet. This phablet was anticipated for quite sometime and is enlarged version of HTC One smartphone. Lookwise, this phablet has the same look as of HTC One flagship, but has a removable back cover.

The HTC One Max has following features:

  • 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB/ 32GB inbuilt storage variants with support for up to 64GB of additional external storage via microSD card.

  • thickness-  10.3mm
  • 3300mAh battery
  • will be available in Glacial Silver color

This phablet is equipped with  HTC’s 4MP  UltraPixel Camera at the rear while there is a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and also comes with HTC Zoe and HTC BoomSound, first seen on HTC One, but does not have Beats Audio sound enhancement technology.This device also does not have optical image stabilization. Connectivity features on the HTC One Max include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, DLNA and HTC Connect.

Like latest introduced iPhone 5S, the HTC One Max comes with  the fingerprint scanner, which  is placed below the camera and can be used to unlock the device by swiping the finger over the sensor.

The HTC One Max will face stif competiton from Samsung Galaxy Note 3, LG Optimus G2 and the upcoming Nokia phablet. HTC has not disclosed the price of the new phablet yet, but has announced that it will be launched in Asia and Europe in October and the US in November. The success of this device will depend upon its price. HTC is famous for keeping its prices on highre side and inorder to be successful, they will have to keep it competitvely priced to get leverage in phablet segment, which is dominated by Samsung so far. It will not be easy for HTC to beat Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
