Huawei is one of the leading smartphone manufacturers based in China, and is quite successful with its Ascend range of smartphones. Its range of smartphones are widely accepted in global markets and in the MWC in Barcelona in February, it received huge response. Huawei has bolstered up by this response and now is reportedly aiming to sell 60 million smartphones worldwide over the next 12 months, as reported by the leading website Digitimes of Taiwan.
Huawei has the added advantage that it has line-up of entry-level to high-end smartphones that have 6 inch screens, and can leverage in emerging markets as well as in high-end segments, and also increase its market share in its own country, where it is already very popular.
Huawei is also reportedly adjusting its handset sales strategies, and plans to decrease the amount of feature phones it sells in order to focus on selling more mid-range and high-end units, which Digitimes has learnt from its sources.
Huawei smartphones are doing fairly well in entry-level segment in India, but we are not sure about exact sales figure of its devices. Although,in india it faces stiff competition from domestic companies like Micromax and Karbonn etc., but the saving grace for Huawei is the even these companies are sourcing their smartphones from China and Huawei can meet their challenge with prices and better features in their smartphones.
