Huawei has just launched Huawei P20 smartphone in an event in Paris. The USP of this phone is its Leica dual camera featuring a 12MP lens with a pixel size of 1.55 um, and a 20MP monochrome lens. This phone is powered by Huawei Kirin 970 Octa-core CPU (4 Cortex A73 2.36 GHz + 4 Cortex A53 1.8 GHz) + NPU and mated with Mali-G72 MP12. This phone features 5.8-inch FullView IPS LCD display with resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels and aspect ratio of 18.7:9.
For optics, this phone is packed with Leica 12 MP RGB sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 20 MP monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture with dual-LED flash, PDAF, Depth auto focus and 4K video recording at 30fps capability. It supports six-axis stabilization and 960fps super slow motion, which is 4x higher than the standard 240fps and captures details that cannot be seen with the naked eye as claimed by Huawei.
According to Huawei, P20 Series automatically identifies more than 500 scenarios in 19 categories and selects photography modes and camera settings to deliver professional-looking images. In addition, HUAWEI AIS steadies handheld night shots for incredible long exposure images without a tripod.
For selfies, this phone has 24 MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture with AI beautification and 3D portrait lighting and support for face unlock.
This is Dual SIM phone and comes with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is not extendable. It has fingerprint sensor on the front and offers connectivity options of 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. It is packed with 3400mAh battery with Huawei SuperCharge. It runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.1 on the top.
This phone will be available in Twilight, Black, Midnight Blue, Champagne Gold, Pink Gold colors and is priced 649 Euros (US$ 804). It is available from today. No word about its arrival in India so far.
