Idea Launches !d 4000 3G Smartphone With 4 Inches Display At Rs 4,999

Idea Cellular has launched today its latest affordable !d 4000 3G smartphone at Rs. 4,999. This smartphone is now available at Idea retails outlets across 11 circles – Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Maharashtra & Goa, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh , Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (E) and Uttar Pradesh (W).

The !d 4000 3G smartphone has 4 inches screen and is powered by 1.0 GHz Dual core processor, coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded upto 32GB via microSD card. This phone runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and is equipped with 3.2MP rear camera. It supports Dual-SIM and is packed with a 1500mAh battery.

Idea !d 4000 comes integrated with Bluetooth V4.0 and is Wi-fi enabled, ensuring connectivity at all times.The smartphone is pre-loaded with social networking apps like !dea TV, Facebook, Twitter etc.

Like all other Idea 3G smartphones, the !d 4000 also comes with a special offer for Idea 3G users offering 3G data benefits of 1.6 GB 3G data and Free Idea TV for 3 months, with a pack priced at Rs. 259 for existing subscribers, and 1.6 GB 3G data and Free Idea TV for 3 months, with a pack priced at Rs. 261 for new subscribers.

Announcing the launch of the new !d 4000, Mr. Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular, said, “Our strategy of proliferating data services through the sale of affordable 3G smartphones has worked well for us, and hence we will continue to build on our devices portfolio. A large base of Indian consumers want affordable, yet, feature rich smartphones to experience 3G and mobile internet. !d 4000 will address this demand in the market and enable 2G users to upgrade to 3G in our key 3G markets.”

Idea has mentioned in its press statement that they are the only mobile operator in the country to offer a vast array of affordable 3G devices which is targeted at upgrading 2G users to 3G. With the launch the new device, Idea’s portfolio of 3G smartphones has gone upto 16, and the company has already sold over 7 lakh devices from its earlier range of 8.89 cm (3.5”), 10.16 cm (4”), 11.43 cm (4.5”), and 12.7 cm (5”) screen categories.
