India’s third largest telecom service provider, has expanded its portfolio of smartphones and also entered the highly acceptable phablet segment, by launching its Ultra Smartphone with 5 inch display. In the last two years, Idea Cellular has introduced 11 smartphones and the Ultra announced today is their 12th smartphone and the first in phablet category. Idea Celluar claims to have sold over 6 lakh devices in the 3.5″, 4”and 4.5”categories. Keeping in view of huge success of 3G devices of Idea Cellular, the new Idea Ultra will be available across all major 3G markets, at a price of Rs. 10,500. This smartphone is available in white glossy finish.
The Idea Ultra sports a 5″ IPS display, and is powered b a 1.2GHz Quad core processor . This comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. The Ultra is equipped with an 8MP primary camera with flash, which the company claim can capture up to 90 continuous images of a moving object, and also comes with front VGA camera.The Dual-SIM Ultra runs on Android Jelly Bean (4.1.2), and is packed with 2000 mAh battery. For connectivity, it has Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-fi.

Idea will be selling the new ULTRA through its own retail and service outlets across major 3G markets -Maharashtra & Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Gujarat, UP West & East, and Haryana.
