JBL known for top-notch audio products, has recently introduced Tune Beam 2 wireless earbuds featuring adaptive noise cancelling and spatial sound support. These earbuds are compatible with both Android and iOS devices. I have the opportunity to test these earbuds with my iPhone 14 Max and Macbook Air for few days and found them to be quite effective and sturdy earbuds.

Design
The JBL Tune Beam 2 is packed in a compact box and comes with a USB-C charging cable, a user manual, and two pairs of silicone ear tips fixed on earbuds and one additioanl set of eartips. The charging case has matte-finish to resist smudges and front of the case carry the JBL logo. Above the logo there is row of three LEDs that indicate the battery level. A USB-C charging port is placed at the bottom and name of the earbuds is mentioned on the back of the case. When you open the lid of the box, you will find glossy interior and earbuds with silicon tips fit there smugly and these can be removed easily for use.

The earbuds are light and with soft silicone ear tips, they provide a comfortable fit in the ears and you will not feel uncomfortable during long usage. These earbuds have an in-ear stem-style design. It has IP54 ratings which means that these are both dust and water splashes resistant. Even during your outdoor activities they will remain intact in your ears and will not come out. These earbuds have glossy finish and and allows you to do control playback, manage calls, and toggle ANC and ambient awareness modes.
Connectivity
The JBL Tune Beam 2 are compatible with Android and iOS devices and support Bluetooth 5.3. Moreover, they also have feature of multi-point connectivity which means you can connect two devices at the same time. I have connected them with my iPhone and Macbook Air simultaneously. It also supports Google Fast Pair. They are paired instantly with the devices and this process is hassle-free and pairing remains lag free even for extended use. With JBL Headphones companion app, it provides user friendly experience and provide host of features.
Performance
JBL is known for impressive audio products and these earbuds are another example of JBL fine technology. The JBL Tune Beam 2 are packed with a 10mm dynamic driver covering an ultra-wide frequency range of 20 Hz – 20 kHz. These earbuds deliver quite impressive sound which is clear, crisp and punchy bass. With the help of JBL Headphones app, you can customise the sound quality as per your liking. This app has various useful audio setting such as equalizers, spatial sound modes, and sound balance control.
Spatial sound is one of the best feature of these earbuds. Spatial Sound have three modes of Movie, Music, and Game. You can APPLY these modes depending on the type of content being used to to add depth to the audio output. Similarly, you can choose Audio mode and video mode depending upon your content to enhance the listening experience. The EQ section of Headphone app includesl presets like Studio, Bass, Club, Extreme Bass, Vocal, and Jazz and you can choose them as per your preference
Personi-Fi 3.0 is also an important feature of JBL Headphones app. With this feature, you can customize sound as per your hearing liking and preferences. It runs a short test or series of questions within the app to understand how you hear different frequencies and then generate a custom sound profile. This feature is differennt from EQ adjustments by considering your unique hearing profile.
The JBL Tune Beam 2 also comes with useful Adaptive Noise Cancelling cancelling. The earbuds are capable of automatically adjusting the level of noise such as street noise and in public transport but some ambient noise seeps in when you are listening in loud environments.
With JBL Headphones App, you can also customize the ANC levels and enable you to use Ambient Aware and TalkThru modes. With the help of Ambient Aware, you can be aware of your surrounding for safety and with the help of TalkThru, you can lowers the music volume and amplifies speech for quick conversations without removing the earbuds.
Call quality on the JBL Tune Beam 2 is clear and without distortion thanks to a triple-microphone setup—six microphones in totaL. On top of it, voice clarity remains strong even in noisy environments.
Battery
The earphones are packed with powerful battery and provide around 12h without ANC and 10h with ANC standalone battery life. The charging case promises up to 36h without ANC and 30h with ANC. But in real case scenario, you will get more battery life than mentioned by JBL. I have experienced more than one hour additioanl battery life as claimed by JBL with and without ANC. Charging the case takes approximately two hours.
Conclusion
The JBL Tune Beam 2 provide good audio quality in this price range. It has features of spatial sound, enhanced call clarity, and various personalization options through the JBL Headphones App and Personi-Fi 3.0. Its salient features of ANC, battery life, and multipoint connectivity are very useful for the users. On the downside, it is bereft of auto play/pause functionality features which are available on some competitive devices.
Priced at MRP of Rs 11,999, JBL Tune Beam 2 is available for INR 5499 on Amazon.in. In our opinion, this is value for money earbuds.
