As expected LeEco has entered Indian market with an elan and launched today two Superphones in India at a mega event in Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon. The two smartphones launched today by LeEco are : Le 1S & Le Max Superphones. The Le 1S is priced Rs. 10,999 and Le Max is priced Rs. 32,999 for 64GB variant and Rs. 36,999 for 128GB variant.
The Le1S would be exclusively available on Flipkart starting 2nd February, with first flash sale on 2nd February starting 12 noon. 60,000 units of Le 1S will be sold in the first flash sale. The registration for the same will start on 20th January 6pm and will end on 2nd February at 11am. The Le Max would be available on Flipkart from 16th February.
LeEco Superphones come with impressive hardware features and come loaded with lot of media content which will attract young buyers towards these phones.
The Le1S was released in China in November and in a short 2-month time span, LeEco has sold more than 3 million Le1S, the best seller in China and other markets.
The LeEco Le 1s feature a 5.5-inch full HD display (1080×1920 pixels) and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 OS with the company’s EUI skin on it. It is powered by MediaTek Helio X10 processor combined with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.This phone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and PDAF. It also houses a 5-megapixel front facing camera. This phone is packed with 3000mAh battery. The battery of this phone also allows a quick charge which means 5 minutes of charging gives 3.5 hours of talk time.
This phone also comes with fingerprint scanner at the back behind the rear camera. Le 1S claims to be the world’s fastest fingerprint recognition technology, which can unlock the phone from any angle within 0.15s with 99.3% accuracy, and the phone can maximally add 5 fingerprints. We shall test this claim while reviewing the phone in details. Le1S also has the world’s first mirror-surfaced fingerprint scanner which could be a gospel to appearance-loving consumers.
This phone comes with a reversible USB Type-C with fast-charging SpeedVolt technology. For connectivity, this phone offers options of 4G LTE support and also supports 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, Micro-USB etc. It has dimensions of 151.1×74.2×7.5mm and its weight is 169 grams.
This phone has full-metal aircraft grade aluminum unibody, which makes the phone scratch proof, for which competitors can hardly offer the same level of resistance. This phone doesn’t even have a single screw in its body, which is not even achieved by iPhones. Le1S might be the world’s only metal unibody phone featuring a screwless industrial design, which upholds breathtaking minimalism, as claimed by the company.
The Le Max is a phablet from the house of LeEco and sports a 6.33 inch (1440×2560 pixels) 2K display. It is powered by a Qualcomm 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and options of 64GB and 128GB storage variants.This smartphone runs on Android Lollipop OS with customised EUI running on top. It is packed with a 3400mAh battery.
On the photographoc front, it has been provided with 21 MP rear camera with features of 6-piece lens, Sony’s IMX230 sensor and Optical Image Stabilizer. The Dual tone flash has two sources of light with different color temperatures ensuring the user getting the best balance of light when clicking pictures at any time of the day. It also boasts of a 4-UltraPixel front shooter with a wide angle 5P lens and F2.0 aperture allows people take the best selfies and groupies.
This phone also features a fingerprint sensor on the reverse of the phone behind the primary camera and has USB 2.0 Type-C port.

This phone also has full metal unibody design out of aircraft grade aluminum. Le Max is also the world’s first full-floating glass, which is a Sharp Screen exclusively for LeEco, and bezel-less design, reaching an unmatched viewing experience.
Le Max will be available in 2 colors- shimmer gold with 128GB and titanium silver with 64GB of memory.
LeEco also released a top-end variation of Le Max at the event – Le Max Sapphire, which has the same specs with Le Max except its display screen, which is a 6.33 inch sapphire. The sapphire screen is as hard as a diamond. Priced At Rs. 69,999, Le Max Sapphire will be available in pink color. It will have sales based on invitation and only has a limited stock of 1000 units.
One of the USP of LeEco Suprphones is that these phones come with lot of content. At the launch event, LeEco announced a strategic cooperation with Eros Film Company over content cooperation. LeEco will also work with YuppTV, which will provide 250 live channels across 12 languages, offering entertainment, news, movies, music, kids, lifestyle and spiritual content. All this content will be available on Le Superphones in quarter two of 2016.
LeEco also promsies to provide good after sales service and is building a network of 555 service stations in prime locations around India for providing 24×7 multiple languages services to customers. During one year warranty period, user can get a brand-new Le Max if the phone is broken or not working. LeEco announced pick and drop service for the defective smartphone.
In our opinion, the price of Le 1S is quite interesting bu the price of Le Max is little bit on higher side despite the fact that Le Eco demonstrated BOM ( Bill of Material Cost) at the event which are far far higher then the prices announced by the company.
