If you design a metal clad phone with glamorous look and pack it with powerful features like 16MP rear camera, good fingerprint sensor on the back and price the device just Rs. 11,999 then you are certainly heading all the ways to your bank. This is what LeEco of China has done with its latest launched Le 2 phone which is attractively priced to lure customers to buy it blindly.
I have got this device two days ago and it has surprised me with its camera prowess and design. LeEco has not not done any considerable changes in the design language from its Le IS. The Le 2 has very good quality metal design which will give run for money to high-end phones also. LeEco has enhacned the camera capability from 13MP in Le IS to 16MP in Le 2 and which results in significant improvement.
This is very elegantly looking device and gives you the feeling of a top-notch handset. You will find power button and volume rocker on the left side and sim slot on the right hand side. On the top, this handset has world’s first CDLA(Continual Digital Loseless Audio) USB Type-C port instead of traditional 3.5mm headphone port. This feature may not be liked by those buyers who have already bought headphone for 3.5mm port. To utilise this feature of new technology, the customers will have to buy LeEco’s CDLA Type-C audio headphones, which is priced Rs. 1990. At the bottom of the phone is USB Type- C port for charging it.
Le 2 is equipped with a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Sony sensors, PDAF, Closed Loop, HDR and Dual-LED flash. The rear camera protrudes out slightly from the rest of the body but that does not look irritating. It also houses an 8MP front shooter which is more than enough for taking good selfies.
I have clicked some images with it without using any filter keeping in view of the fact that majority of us snap images at the spur of the moment and you can see the quality of these images for your self. The results are excellent, vibrant and bright. What else do you want from a camera when you are spending just Rs. 12,000?
Besides its camera supermacy, this phone comes with very impressive hardware in this price range. It has a 5.5-inch bezel-less In-Cell HD display (1920×1080 pixels) with blue light filter alongwith Corning Gorilla Glass 3 over it. Under the hood is 1.8GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor combined with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This phone gets its juice from a 3000mAh battery. It supports all Indian bands of 4G Lte including VoLTE.
We are testing this phone inhouse and shall come out with our conclusion of its performance and other features very shortly. Stay Tuned!
