Lenovo Unveils Android 4.0 Ideatab S2110, A2109, A2107 At IFA

It is raining smartphones and tablets in IFA, which is going on in Berlin,Germany. To join mad rush for fast expanding tablet space, Lenovo has joined the bandwagon and introduced three Ideatab tablets models – S2110, A2109 and A2107 in different screen sizes of 10.1, 9 and 7 inches, respectively. All the three tablets run on Android 4.0 OS.

The S2110 tablet can be attached to a keyboard dock, giving users the choice of converting the tablet into notebook at will. The tablet features a 10.1″ inch IPS LCD display with a 1280×800 resolution, boasts 10 finger touchscreen abilities and a Qualcomm 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and a projected 10 hours of battery life (20 with the keyboard dock).  The tablet also features a rear-facing 5 MP camera capable of recording 720p HD videos, with Auto Focus and LED flash as well as a 1.3 MP front-facing camera.  It comes with a mini HDMI port and Micro-USB port.  This tablet will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB variants and will launch for $399 and be available later this year. The keyboard dock is optional and priced at $100.

The IdeaTab A2109 sports 9″ inch screen with a 1280×800 resolution, solid metallic build and is powered by Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 1 GB of RAM. The A2109 will come in 8 GB and 16 GB variants with microSD card slots, Micro-USB ports and an additional mini HDMI port. This tablet will be available for $299 in the coming weeks.

The IdeaTab A2107 is equipped with 7″ inch screen having  a 1024×600 display. The tablet is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor, rear and front cameras, FM radio, optional 3G, Micro-USB port and microSD card slot. It supports dual-SIM functionality as well. The tablet will be launched in 3 variants of 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB. There is no word from Lenovo about its price and availability schedule.

Lenovo is getting aggressive in tablet segment also and they are utilising  their existing infrastructure and expertise  of manufacturing notebooks to develop tablets to compete in this segment also with leading companies like Samsung, Sony and Apple etc.
