Chinese handsets maker Lenovo has launched today their mid-range smartphone Z2 Plus with very decent features in two variants. It comes with 3GB RAM/ 32GB of internal storage and 4GB RAM/64GB of internal storage variants.The Lenovo Z2 Plus is priced at Rs 19,999 for the 4GB + 64GB & Rs 17,999 for the 3GB + 32GB and will be exclusively available on Amazon starting September 25th at 11:59 pm in Black and White colors.
Lenovo has also announced that it will sell accessories for this phone such as Chrono case for Rs 1,299, Skullcandy Ando headphones for Rs 1,299 ( this phone does not come with earphones in the box) and Stealth case which is back cover for Rs 699.
On the hardware front, this phone sports a 5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) LCD display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 4GB/3GB DDR4 RAM and 64GB/32GB Sandisk SmartSLC for internal storage. The internal storage of the phone is non-expandable. This phone is packed with 3500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and intelligent charge cut-off (ICC) feature to ensure the battery does not overcharge.
On the photographic front, the Z2 Plus has been provided with a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash f/2.2 aperture, PDAF with quick focus in just 0.1 seconds, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and 4K video recording support. For the selfies, it has an 8 MP camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture and 80 degrees wide-angle lens.
This is Dual SIM supporting phone and also offers other connectivity options of 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and USB Type-C port. This phone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box.
This phone comes with U-Touch on the Home button which host Fingerprint sensor, capacitive sensor and a physical button. It enables users to program 7 different gestures and shortcuts into the Fingerprint sensor.
This phone also incorporates U health app which keeps track of your step, distance and calories with the help of dedicated Pedometer, Gyroscope and Accelerometer.
This phone does not have metal design but is made of fibre glass material which the company claims is stronger than metal and internal components of the Lenovo Z2 Plus are reinforced with an alloy rollcage. The back cover of the phone has glass which is prone to smudges and for which you would require Stealth case. The Matte Black Stealth Case worth Rs 699 will come with the phone. This phone has volume rocker, power button and Dual SIM card slot tray on the right hand side of the panel and the left panel is neat. The 3.5mm audio port, USB Type-C port for charging and the speaker grill have been provided at the bottom.
The Z2 Plus will compete with Xiaomi Mi 5, OnePlus 3 which also run on Snapdragon 820 and Asus ZenFone 3 which comes with Snapdragon 625 chipset. All the three competitive phones have metal design.
