LG Unveils Optimus Vu II Phablet With 5″ Inch Display

It seems big screens are becoming trend in the latest smartphones. As far as specifications of hig-end smartphones are concerned, they are almost same with minor changes and in order to bring variety and wow factor, smartphone makers are now increasing the display size of their smartphones. Samsung has unveiled few days ago Galaxy Note II having screen size of 5.5″ inches and yesterday LG has unveiled in Korea Optimus Vu II smartphone-cum-tablet having 5 inch screen, and which will run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Under the hood of Optimus Vu II, There is a Qualcomm 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor with 2 GB RAM. It is equipped with an 8 MP autofocus rear shooter and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. LG Optimus Vu II also has a 2150 mAh battery and 3 GB of internal storage. It is available in three color options – white, black and pink.

LG has also announced a couple of interesting accessories along with this new device. These include a wireless charging pad and a waterproof One Key remote. The One Key remote will help you find your device at a mere touch of a button and its multicolour LED flashes to show calls, messages, charging status and other alerts.

This phablet is available only in Korea for equivalent of US $864 and there is no official word on its availability and pricing in India. In order to be successful in India, LG can’t afford to keep the price of this device higher than Samsung’s Galaxy Note II. On the contrary, they will have to keep the prices little bit lower to attract prospective buyers. Let us see when this device lands in India and at what price.
