It appears that Nokia’s latest flagship Lumia 1020 smartphone will hit Indian retail shelves shortly. This latest smartphone has popped up on Nokia’s India website. But Nokia has not mentioned time frame of its availability or its price on its site. The company simply asks for signing up to know about its availability and when you sign up, it merely says” we will let you know when it is in stores”.
Nokia Lumia 1020 was unveiled in an event in NewYork few days ago and Nokia has lot of expectations from this device to sail them through rough weather. Currently, the scenario at Nokia is not good and the results declared by Finnish based company show that their sales of Lumia range of smartphones have dwindled considerably. This is primarily because of aggression shown by Android handsets vendors especially Samsung and of late LG,Sony, HTC and some Chinese companies.
Nokia Lumia 1020 has key strength of its 41 Mega Pixel camea and how this key feature is taken into account by the prospective customers when at arriving at a purchase decision, will set the course for its failure or success.
Unlike any smartphone in the market today the Nokia Lumia 1020 reinvents zoom, enabling people to discover more detail than the eye can see. With Nokia’s innovative PureView technology, including optical image stabilization, the device is able to produce some of the sharpest images possible by any digital camera. With Nokia Pro Camera application, it is easy for anyone to take professional quality images, and edit and share photos and videos with unrivaled clarity.
Using a new feature called dual capture, the Nokia Lumia 1020 simultaneously takes a high resolution 38 megapixel image for endless editing opportunities, and creates a 5 megapixel picture that is easy to share to social networks with Windows Phone 8.
The Nokia Lumia 1020’s 41 megapixel sensor features leading ZEISS optics with six physical lenses, plus optical image stabilization, delivering crystal clear pictures even in low light conditions.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 sports a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA (1280×768) display. It also includes a 2.5 D sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This smartphone is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory.
The phone runs on Microsoft’s Windows phone 8. It also has a HD 1.2 megapixel wide angle front camera, and is packed with a 2000 mAh battery. It does not include built-in wireless charging, but it suppports wireless charging via an attachable cover.
The other key factor of its success or failure in very price-sensitive market of India would be pricing of Lumia 1020. How this new smartphone is priced by Nokia for Indian market would matter a lot because in India, there is no trend of selling the smartphone under contract schemes, which is one of the motivating factor to boost sales in markets like US,Europe and in some other markets.
Since India is still one of the best markets for Nokia, the company will not disappoint its Nokia fans in India and will remain connected with them by offering them attractive price for Lumia 1020 and also throw some freebies when it is officially launched in India.
