At an event in Beijing, Chinese brand Meizu has launched its flagship smartphone – Pro 5 with very powerful features. This phone will be available in two variants with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB of internal storage and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB of storage. This phone will be available in Grey, Silver, Silver Black, and Golden colours. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Flyme 5 on top.
Meizu Pro 5 flaunts a 5.7-inch (1080×1920 pixels) Super Amoled display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 2.5D glass. It is powered by Samsung Exynos 7420 octa-core processor coupled with Mali T760 MP8 GPU.
The PRO 5 sports SONY 21.16 mega-pixels CMOS in the rear. It boasts of PDAF phase focusing and laser-assisted focusing for improving the focusing speed under complicated lighting conditions. It also comes with LARGAN 6P lenses for improving the resolution. The OV5670 CMOS, ƒ/2.2 large aperture ring with 5 mega pixels is used for the front camera of the PRO 5.
This phone gets its power from 3050mAh battery which comes with mCharge 2.0 support technology, which is claimed to charge the 65% of battery in just 30 minutes. The other important feature of this phone is its USB Type-C data cable which can be plugged in the phone in either forward or reverse directions, to ensure a service life up to 10,000 times. This USB Type-C port was also introduced in One Plus 2 smartphone.
Meizu has also enahnced audio capabilites of its PRO 5 by including the ES9018K2M and OPA1612 chips, which are normally only used on a Hi-Fi player, and four pairs of NXP high current transistors, for delivering powerful sound.
The PRO 5 uses the latest generation of fingerprint sensor of Fingerprint Cards to enhance the accuracy and response speed of the fingerprint module, for ensuring total security. According to Meizu, Panasonic and other well-known suppliers supply components for the fingerprint module of the PRO 5 with a large metal area and longer key travel, making the necessary force more uniform, yet softer to the touch using the same amount of pressure.
The PRO 5 claims to have faster 4G network downloading speed, and supports the LTE Cat.6 standard, with downlink peak speeds up to 300Mbps in the TDD LTE 4G frequency band. This phone supports Dual Nano-SIM card.
At the launch event, Meizu has not disclosed when this phone will arrive in India. But we can speculate that it should hit Indian shores in a month or so.
