Expanding its portfolio of highly successful Canvas range of smartphones, leading Indian handsets maker Micromax has launched today its latest flagship Canvas 4 smartphone at a price of Rs. 17,999.
The Dual-SIM Canvas 4 featurers a 5-inch HD IPS display and comes in an aluminium casing. According to the company, the touchscreen is optimised for use even while wearing gloves. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1 OS. The Canvas 4 is packed with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded upto 32GB via microSD card. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and Micro-USB. Canvas 4 is equipped with a 2,000mAH battery.
One of the key features of the Canvas 4 is its 13 megapixel rear camera. This smartphone is also equipped with a 5 megapixel front camera. The rear camera can record 1080p video and includes features such as samile and face detection,photosolid to increase precision,touch focus, four direction panorama -horizontal and vertical, and anti-shake.The Canvas 4 can capture 99 photos in less than 15 seconds in burst mode.
The Canvas 4 has been embellished with some smart features to make it look attractive to the users. The users can unlock this smartphone by blowing air on the screen.The video pinning feature enables users to pin a video they are watching to the home screen while performing other tasks. The simultaneous video view can play more than one video at the same time. You can pause the video when you are not looking at the screen, and resumes play when the user looks back at the screen. This eye-tracking feature has been borrowed from Samsung’s Galaxy S4 feature.
The Canvas 4 is also packed with smart gestures that allows users an array of features like – Proximity answer phone, Downslide silent,upside speaker and proximity dial phone for easier and hassle free functioning.
The Canvas 4 is bundled with Fone Clay to download unlimited cool themes, Hike for instant messaging, Opera Mini,Spuul to watch free movies for a limited period, customized Music Hub to get access to over 5 lakhs songs online music via “mionline music tab” and Kingsoft office suite to help you view and edit your official documents.
The Canvas 4 has been introduced to give tough competiton to Samsung Galaxy Grand, which is selling like hot cakes in India. The Galaxy Grand is also available now in the range of Rs. 18,000 in Delhi and Samsung will now come with novel marketing plan to counter-attack from the Canvas 4. In the coming days, we can expect aggressive upgrade offer or some freebies for Galaxy Grand.
