At an event in Gurgaon, Micromax launched today Convas 6 and Convas 6 Pro smartphones, both priced at Rs. 13,999. Registration for the both the phones will start today on Micromax’s newly launched e-store : stores.micromaxinfo.com.
The Canvas 6 has metal uni-body design and incorporates fingerprint scanner on the back. This phone features 5.5 QHD display (1080×1920 pixel) with 401 ppi resolution. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz unspecified processor combined with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be extended upto 128GB via microSD card.
On the other hand Canvas 6 Pro has plasti body and features the same display of 5.5QHD with 1080×1920 pixels. This phone is driven by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio MT6795m processor paired with 4GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage extendable to 128GB via microSD card.
Both the phones are packed with 3000mAh battery and are equipped with a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. The Canvas 6 has an 8 MP front-facing camera whereas the Canvas 6 Pro houses a 5 MP front-facing camera. Both phones run Around UI on top of Android Lollipop OS. Both the phones support 4G LTE networks of India.
Micromax also announced the launch of refreshed versions of Micromax Bolt Supreme, Bolt Supreme 2, Bolt Q381, Canvas Spark 2+, Canvas Evok, Canvas Mega 2, Canvas Unite 4 smartphones. Micromax announced total 20 new smart devices, right from smartphones, tablets and LED TVs in different price points.
On this occasion, Micromax also unveiled its new logo and brand philosophy ‘Nuts: Guts: Glory’. Micromax also announced its corporate strategy with the launch of “Micromax 3.0” and a vision to be the top player in the Indian smart devices category and to enter the top 5 club of global handset manufacturers.
This event was hosted by Micromax to showcase its strengths as the leading handsets and other devices maker in India. Recently, the company was in news as few of its senior executives have left the company and it was reportd that the company is struggling. This was an image buiilding exercise to convey to the media that the company is making an all out efforts to remain ahead of its competition in India and also get global foot-print.
