Micromax To Launch 5″ inch Android Smartphone A100 For Rs. 9,999

To coinside with rainy season, Indian stalwart in mobile phones and tablets – Micromax is flooding the market with mobile phones and tablets. Like its superior multinational smartphones giant – Samsung, Micromax has been on releasing spree of smartphones. Last week, Micromax has unveiled A84 smartphone powered by Android Gngerbread and now the A100 has been spotted on HomeShop18, which  is owned by Network 18.

The phone will feature a 5″ inch screen with a resolution of 480×854 pixels. The A100 will be powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating software and  5 megapixel camera with flash. The phone will have an internal memory of 4 GB, which will be expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. It will come packed with a 2000 mAh battery. However, processor and RAM details are still not known. Other features include 3G, Bluetooth, radio and WiFi. The weight of this phone is 168 gm.

According to the listing on HomeShop18, the smartphone will be priced at Rs. 9,999. But there is no word on the  release date right now. It is expected that this phone will be launched most probably in this week.

Micromax will give tough competition to Spice Steller Horizon, which was recently announced for a  price tag of Rs. 11,999, with its A100. The specifications of both the smartphones are almost similar; however there is no word on the processor or RAM of the  Micromax A100, which are a major deciding factor for a smartphone  purchase. It is hoped that in order to compete with its Indain counterpart, Micromax will come up with similar specifications or more for these major aspects also.
