Microsoft Lumia 535 Launched Without Nokia Branding

Microsoft has unveiled the first smartphone under its own branding known as the Microsoft Lumia 535 and Lumia 535 Dual SIM smartphones running the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system.This budget smartphone is targetted for the emerging markets and is the first device, which does not have Nokia branding.


According to Microsoft, Lumia 535 and Lumia 535 Dual SIM will begin rolling out to key markets in November and will be available in bright green, bright orange, white, dark grey, cyan and black. Pricing for Lumia 535 and Lumia 535 Dual SIM will vary by market and operator, but the estimated retail price will be around 110 euros ( $135) before taxes.


“Lumia 535 comes with our ‘5x5x5’ proposition,” said Jo Harlow, corporate vice president for Phones at Microsoft. “Innovation should be available to everyone, and we are doing this through the very best integrated Microsoft services included and out of the box, a 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera, and a spacious 5-inch qHD screen — all at an affordable price.”

The fLumia 535 comes with 5 inch qHD display (960 x 540) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and is powered by Snapdragon 200 Quad-core 1.2GHz proceesor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 128GB via microSD card. Microsoft is also providing the 15 GB free OneDrive storage. It is equipped with 5MP rear with LED flash and 5MP front camera for selfies.

The Lumia 535 is packed with 1905 mAh battry, which is rated to provide:

maximum music playback time: 78 hours
maximum Wi-Fi network browsing time: 8.5 hours
maximum video playback time: 6.5 hours

For connectivity, the Lumia 535 offers options of USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi hotspot, A-GLONASS, A-GPS etc. It comes loaded with HERE Drive+, HERE Maps, Bing Maps.
