After much wait, Microsoft has finally launched today 4th generation Surface Pro 4 tablet in India. The Surface Pro 4 starts at Rs. 89,990 in Inda and is claimed to be 30 percent faster than the Surface Pro 3, and 50 percent faster than Apple’s MacBook Air. The Surface Pro 4 was unveiled in US last year in the month of October.
The Surface Pro 4 is powered by Windows 10 and turns from a tablet into a full powered laptop by attaching keyboard to it, which is an optional accessory and is priced Rs. 12,490. The Type Cover Keyboard is available in black and blue colors. The beauty of Type Cover Keyboard is that it is quite vast and easy to operate. The keys can be pressed quite conviently.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 sports a 12.3-inch (2736×1824 pixel) with PixelTouch display and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. It comes with Surface Pen, the new name for Stylus. The Surface Pen is quite powerful as it comes with eraser feature at the bottom of the pen, and capable of detecting 1,024 points of pressure. The Surface Pen has battery which is claimed to last for one year.
The Surface Pro 4 has Cortana integration, incorporates Windows Hello which is an automatic biometric sign-in option and works perfectly with the full suite of Microsoft Office products.
The Surface Pro is driven by 6th Gen Intel Core M3, i5, or i7 processsors and comes with 4GB RAM and has massive 1TB of SSD storage. This device is quite slim having thickness of just 8.4mm. It is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera, and also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video conferencing in HD. It also comes with fingerprint reader, four USB 3.0 ports and an Ethernet port. This tablet is fuelled by powerful battery which can last upto 9 hours depending upon the usage.
For ease of typing, the Surface Pro 4 can be used with Type Cover with a glss trackpad, which has a more spacious keys on keyboard. This cover will eliminate the need of a laptop as claimed by the company.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be sold exclusively in India exclusively by Amazon for the first six months. The pre-order begins today and shipping will start on 14th January. The Surface Pro 4 are also available for demo at five Microsoft Stores located in Noida, Gurgaon, Delhi ( Connaught Place), Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

Microsoft has also announced availability of Surface Pro 3 in India at starting price of Rs. 73,990 with Intel Core i3 processsor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB SSD but without Surface Pen, which has an additional price of Rs. 5,990.
