Motorola has expanded its portfolio of Droid and announced flagship smartphone Droid Turbo, which will be available exclusively on Verizon network in US. The Droid Turbo runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS and boasts of water-repellent nano-coating.
The Droid Turbo will be available in US from October 30 with two storage options at Verizon.com. The 32GB DROID Turbo in Metallic Black, Metallic Red or Ballistic Nylon will be available for $199 with a two-year Verizon contract and the 64GB version available in Ballistic Nylon will be $249 with a two-year Verizon contract.
As leaked earlier, Droid Turbo comes with some powerful features, which we have seen on the recently launched premier smartphones such as LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The Droid Turbo sports a 5.2-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display with a pixel density of 565ppi, which is higher than the LG G3 (5.5 inch display) at 534ppi and Galaxy Note 4 (5.7 inch display) at 515ppi. The screen of Droid Turbo also boasts of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. under the hood of this smartphone is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, with an Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM. For internal storage, the Droid Turbo comes in 32GB and 64GB versions.
The Motorola Droid Turbo is equipped with a massive 21-megapixel rear autofocus camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. This camera has features such as slow motion video; burst mode; auto HDR; Panorama, and tap to focus. This camera can also record 4K videos. This smartphone also houses a 2-megapixel front camera.
The Droid Turbo is packed with a massive 3900mAh battery. This battery is more powerful than the batteries provided on Sony Xperia Z3, Samsung Galaxy S5 etc. Motorola claims that the battery of Droid Turbo is capable of running up to 48 hours for mixed usage. Moreover, the Droid Turbo can be charged with the Motorola Turbo Charger to get up to eight hours of power in a quick 15 minutes.
DROID Turbo also features the Verizon-exclusive DROID Zap app for fast and easy sharing with friends. With Droid Turbo, you can even Zap to TV or use your voice to Zap your screen.
For connectivity, the Droid Turbo offers options of 4G LTE with LTE Cat 4, CDMA, EVDO Rev A, GSM/ UMTS/ HSPA+,Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band capable), mobile hotspot, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE. This phone also includes Accelerometer, Ambient Light, eCompass, Gyroscope, Hall Effect, Infrared and Proximity sensors.
