With Google plunging in wearable devices segment with a bang by introducing its Android Wear OS( http://www.techvorm.com/google-announces-android-wear-os-upcoming-smartwatches/), the search giant company is going to bring storm in the smartwatches segment in the coming months. So far, smartwatches introduced by Samsung, Sony, Pebble etc, have not seen the desired traction despite the best effforts of these companies. Google has already taken into fold the leading smartphones vendors like LG,Samsung,HTC,Asus etc, to develop their smartwatches with Android Wear OS. The newly developed OS for smartwatches have rich features for the wearable devices.
Google has a great chance to control the wearable segment also the way they are dominating the smartphone segment with their Android OS.
