Mobile giant Nokia has expanded its Asha series with the launch of two new budget handsets in the Indian market – Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 311.
The Nokia Asha 305 is a dual SIM phone and has a 3″ inch resistive touch screen and Bluetooth connectivity. The Nokia Asha 305 has an internal memory of 10 MB, expandable with microSD card up to 32 GB. Weighing 98.3 g, the phone has a 2 megapixel camera and pre-loaded with Nokia Maps. This handset will be available in Dark Grey and Red and priced at Rs. 5,029.
The Nokia Asha 311 has a 3″ inch scratch resistant capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 400×240 pixels. Weighing 95 g, the phone has an internal memory of 256 MB (approximately 100 MB free user memory), which is expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card. The Nokia Asha 311 is powered by a 1 GHz processor. The phone, which is engineered with a 1110 mAh battery, is said to offer 14 hours of talktime on 2G network and 6 hours on 3G network. The camera sports a 3.2 megapixel camera and comes pre-installed with Nokia Maps.
Nokia Asha 311 also comes with a 15 level pre-bundled version of popular game Angry Birds. This smartphone will be available in three colour options – Rose Red, Dark Grey and Sand White and priced at Rs. 7,139.
Both the phones come with S40 Asha operating system and Nokia Browser 2.0. According to Nokia, Nokia Browser 2.0 reduces data consumption by up to 90 per cent, which means that consumers can enjoy faster and cheaper Net access without the need of a third-party browser.
The Nokia Asha 311 will be available starting August 12 across the country, while the Nokia Asha 305 is already available in the market. Wth the addition of these two devices, Nokia is currently offering seven devices under its Asha range. It is expected that Nokia will add the Nokia Asha 306 to the lineup soon.
