Nokia Launches Dual SIM Asha 202 At Rs 4,149 – Hope To Recapture Entry Level Segment

Beleaguered Nokia has announced the launch of its dual-SIM touch-and-type phone, the Nokia Asha 202, which is having 2.4″ inch touch screen.

Nokia Asha 202 features dual SIM swap technology with dedicated SIM manager to personalise the phone and save up to five SIM cards with unique information. It comes with a 2-megapixel camera, music player, FM radio, Nokia Browser, and Bluetooth connectivity, and has expandable memory of up to 32 GB.

To enable its consumers to experience faster internet, without having to worry about data charges, Nokia has tied up with five major telecom operators: Vodafone, Airtel, Aircel, Reliance and TATA Docomo to offer 100 MB of free data for each SIM per month for a period of 6 months.

Nokia Asha 202 will also offer exclusive EA games in India. As part of their 60 day promotion at various Nokia stores, customers can experience 40 EA games worth Rs. 4,000 for free. These include classics like Tetris and Need for Speed. The phone also comes with a chat client called Nimbuzz for young and social users to stay connected on-the-move.

The Nokia Asha 202 is available in four colours: black and gold, silver white, dark grey and dark red and is priced at Rs. 4,149 in India.

Although, Nokia is a late entrant to dual Sim segment, still it has a fairly good chance to get good audience keeping in view of its brand equity and attractive price. Asha 202 is certainly an honest attempt by Nokia to recapture some of its lost glory and we are quite optimistic that consumers in this segment will give warm welcome to this device in India.
