Nokia Launches The Entry Level Lumia 520 & The Mid-End Lumia 720 Windows 8 Smartphones In MWC 2013

To remain in the lime light, Nokia has widened its portfolio of  Lumia Windows 8 smartphones and launched today the Lumia 720 and the Lumia 520 models, which are in the mid-range and affordable categories.

The Lumia 720 is being positioned as a “trendy option” and  sports a 4.3 inch display and is super sensitive like the Lumia 920.The Nokia Lumia 720 will be placed in the mid-range segment and comes equipped with  a 6.7 megapixel camera  that has a f/1.9 aperture and Carl Zeiss optics,  that are designed to deliver bright, clear pictures day and night, while the HD-quality, wide-angle front-facing camera for making the photography and video calling experience more enjoyable.

The smartphone comes with the latest Nokia Lumia services, including Nokia Music, the HERE location suite, and an optional snap-on wireless charging cover.

Some of the key  features of Lumia 720:

  • 4.3-inch ClearBlack LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels
  • 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
  • GPS with GLONASS
  • NFC, Bluetooth 3.0
  • 6.7 megapixel camera with BSI sensor and 720p video recording, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera with Skype HD wide angle
  • 8GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB via microSD

The Nokia Lumia 720 will come in five colours, with an expected starting price of 249 euros exclusive of taxes. The smartphone will begin rolling out in Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore in Q1 2013, before continuing into broader markets in Q2, including China as well as key markets in Europe, Asia, Africa and India.

On the other hand, Nokia’s Lumia 520, which  is the most affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphone sports a 4-inch super sensitive IPS display, and a 5 megapixel autofocus rear camera. Camera features include Smart Shoot, CinemaGraph and more. The device boasts impressive features such as the same digital camera lenses found on the flagship Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Music for free music out of the box and even offline, and the HERE location suite.

The Lumia 520 comes in five colors, with an estimated starting price of EUR 139 . Much like the Lumia 720, the rollout is planned to begin in Q1 2013, before expanding broadly in Q2 to markets in Europe, Asia—including China and India—Latin America and Africa.
