Nokia Lumia 610 Now Available In India For Rs. 12,999

Nokia has launched its much-awaited Windows-based phone Lumia 610 at Rs 12,999, the cheapest device in the Lumia series.

It features a 3.7″ inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. It sports a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash. This phone has 800 MHz processor and 8 GB of internal storage. Comes loaded with Nokia Maps and 1300 mAh battery. The smartphone currently runs on Windows Phone 7.5, but company has promised an update to Windows Phone 7.8 sometime later this year. However, like other existing Windows Phone devices, the Nokia Lumia 610 will not receive Microsoft’s recently announced Windows Phone 8 update.

Nokia Lumia 610 also comes with several new features like Nokia Music with Mix Radio, Creative Studio, which will be rolled out to other smartphones in the Lumia series in July-end. “The Nokia Lumia 610 will introduce Windows Phone to a new generation of smartphone users … It is designed to appeal to a more youthful audience purchasing their first smartphone,” Nokia India Director (Smart Devices) Vipul Mehrotra said at the time of launch.

This is an offering that competes strongly on quality against other smartphones at its price point and provides access to one lakh applications,Xbox Live,Nokia Music, Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps, he added.

Nokia also revealed that it has partnered with Warner Bros and The Dark Knight Rises to provide exclusive content for its Lumia series of smartphones including exclusive trailers, movie information, ringtones and wallpapers.As part of the alliance, the company has launched the limited edition Nokia Lumia 800, priced at Rs 24,999. The company plans only to release 200 units of the limited edition and it will be sold on Nokia India website.
