When everybody is waiting for Google Nexus Android 4.0 smartphone and cheapest Aakash tablet, an ambitious project of Human Resources Ministry of Government of India, Ainol – based in Hongkong, has come up with a tablet – Novo 7 that runs on Android 4.0 operating system – Ice Cream Sandwich and is powered by MIPS.
This tablet sports 7″ inch multi touch capacitive screen. Novo 7 tablet is powered by 1 GHZ MIPS based chip that allows user to run all sorts of apps including games and other things that the user would expect out of an Android tablet. The powerful XBurst chip gives games realistic graphic, and also makes games much smoother.
The tablet is said to be power efficient and has long battery life. Battery can last 6 hours for games, 25 hours for music, 8 hours for video, 7 hours for browsing website, and 300 hours for standby.
Novo 7 comes with dual cameras – front camera and 2.0 megapixel rear facing camera. You can also enjoy the amazing video experience on this tablet. You can see all the video of all format – such as mkv, mpeg, mp4, not only in 720p but also in 10 bit x 1080p.
Novo 7 includes a microSD card slot and an HDMI port. This tablet is available in China and for availability in other countries, we are seeking details from the suppliers and shall post on hearing from them. But this tablet if performs alright, will give tough competition to other tablets especially Aakash tablet, which is cheaply priced and which will be launched shortly and going by the previous records of Govt. of India, I have serious reservations about its success. Hope I am proved wrong for Aakash tablet.
The price of this tablet is just US$ 99, which is the cheapest tablet introduced so far with so many features.
