Chinese start-up, OnePlus has launched bumped up version of its highly suceessful OnePlus 3 which is known as OnePlus 3T. This new phone also comes in 128GB internal storage variant. The OnePlus 3T is priced $439 for 64GB version and 128GB model is priced $479. It will go on sale in US from 22nd November and in UK from 28th November.
Their is no change in design of new model. Like OnePlus 3, the new model also comes in anodised aluminium metal unibody. The new variant will be available in Soft Gold and Gunmetal colour variants. The OnePlus 3T has same 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display ((1080×1920 pixels) with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.
Their is no word when it will come to India. My personal opinion is that this will be introduced in India next year as our is very price conscious market and Oneplus 3 is selling good numbers. OnePlus 3T is expected to be priced around Rs. 32,000 for 64GB model and Rs. 35,000 for 128GB variant in India.
The OnePlus 3T is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with Adreno 530 compared to Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with Adreno 530 GPU on OnePlus 3. The new variant is also packed with 6GB RAM and now also comes with 128GB of internal storage model besides 64GB which was available on earlier version.
On the photography front, the OnePlus 3T is packed with the same 16MP rear camera with Sony IMX298 sensor, PDAF and 4K video recording features which were avaialble on OnePlus 3. The change has been done on the front camera. To address the craze of selfies, it has been mounted with 16MP front camera with Samsung 3P8SP sensor with PDAF instead of 8MP camera with fixed focus on OnePlus 3.
The OnePlus 3T is packed with 3400mAh battery compared to the 3000mAh battery on earlier model. The new model also comes with Dash Charge (5V 4A) fast charging technology which was one of the major higlights of OnePlus 3.
Like OnePlus 3, the new model also incorporates fingerprint sensor on the home button and comes with USB 2.0 Type-C port for charging and transfer of data and 3.5mm audio jack. This phone also supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC etc.
The company will reportedly upgrade both the models – OnePlus 3 and 3T to OxygenOS based on Android 7.0 Nougat by the end of this year.
Based on the enhanced features, I can say that the new model will also get huge response in global markets including India whenever the same is introduced here.
