It has become a trend now to sell the smartphones and tablets exclusively through online portals. This mode of selling was pioneered in India by Motorola with Moto G, Moto X and Moto E range of smartphones with great success and after that many Chinese and companies like Samsung are partnering with one or the other e-commerce sites to sell their devices.

The XenPhone 5 features a IPS (One Glass Solution ) 5 inch HD display ( 1280×720 pixels) with 330 PPI density. It is powered by a MTK 6582 Quad Core 1.3GHz Cortex A7 processor, and a Mali-400 MP GPU. This smartphone comes with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded upto 32GB via MicroSD card. The XenPhone runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and supports Dual-SIM ( I micro SIM and 1 mini SIM).

The XenPhone 5 is equipped with 8MP AF rear camera with LED flash, and also houses a 2MP FF camera for video conference and selfies. It is packed with 2000mAH battery, which is claimed to give 15 hours of talk time and 300 hours of standby time on single SIM.

For connectivity options, the XenPhone 5 offers WiFi WAPI(802.11b/g/n), WiFi HotSpot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Micro USB2.0, 3.5MM earphone jack and T flash card. This smartphone is also fixed with Yamha Professional bass speakers. It measures 143×71.5×7.8mm and the device is quite bulky. Its weight is approximately 170 grams.

Commenting on the launch, Soumitra Gupta, CEO, Oplus, said, “We are extremely elated to be launching the XonPhone 5, an innovative smartphone with ultimate features ensuring a unique user experience. Our association with India’s largest marketplace, Snapdeal.com has yielded us great results for our tablet and we are affirmative that our smartphone will also witness great acceptance from the users.”

The XonPhone 5 will face stiff competition from Moto E and various models of Indian handsets, which have flodded the Indian market with budget smartphones with almost similar features and price-point.
