Chinese handsets maker Oppo has opened its account in India by launching today its first flagship smartphone Oppo N1 at a price of Rs. 39,999. To market this smartphone and upcoming smarphones, they have signed Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kappor as their brand ambassadors. The Oppo N1 was launched in the presence of these two heart-throbs of Bollywood.
The key feature of Oppo N1 smartphone is its swivel 13MP camera with CMOS sensor and f/2.0 aperture, and is placed on a rotating swivel capable of rotating 206 degree. According to Oppo, the rotation has been tested 100,000 times to prove its sturdiness, and you can swivel it 40 times a day for 7 years.This camera has a dual-mode flash, and is designed to work for front and back shots. This is the first camera on a smartphone, which can be used for front shooting in 13 mega pixels. Normally, the front shooter does not come as high as 13MP.
The other innovative feature of Oppo N1 is that it comes with the O Click, which is a Bluetooth accessory that can be attached in a keyring and can be used to take pictures remotely or sound an alarm if you are unable to find the phone. This feature is quite useful if you want to click group photograph and does not want to miss the company of your dear ones in the action. This also has a touch panel on the back, which allows users to perform various tasks with simple gestures.
In addition, the Oppo N1 will run very interesting Oppo’s Color OS, based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which has features of Quick Reach,Gesture controls for running music with multi finger operations. You can operate the camera and start music with gesture control on the screen and without going to the settings.
Its hardware features does not disappoint.Oppo N1 sports a 5.9-inch full-HD IPS display(1920×1080 pixels),377PPI, and is powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, coupled with 2GB RAM,16GB of internal storage. This phablet is packed with a powerful 3610mAh battery, and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. For connectivity, Oppo N1 will support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC GPS and Bluetooth 4.0.
The company has not revealed the price details of its 32 GB version of Oppo N1. It is apparent that they would be promoting 16Gb version to start with. Initially, Oppo will cover 12 major cities in India and hence this smartphone will be available in Delhi.Mumbai,Kolkata,Chennai,Bangalore,Hyderabad,Pune,Ahmedabad,Lucknow,Chandigarh,Jaipur and Ludhiana.
Oppo is based in China and after Lenovo,Huawei,ZTE, and Gionee, has entered India with big plans. They will get stiff competition not only from the aforesaid Chinese companies, but also from the well-established local brands like Micromax,Karbonn,Lava and Intex etc,. Keeping in view of its price range of 40K, the Oppo N1 will also get challenged by the established branded phablets like Samsung Galaxy Note 3,Lumia 1520, LG G2 etc. Only the comuing days will tell how this product is received by the Indian market.
