Prime Ministers Shri Narendra Modi of India and Mr. Stefan Lofven of Sweden visited the ABB India booth at the ongoing Make in India Week in Mumbai. They were accompanied by Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State for the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Marcus Wallenberg, Vice Chairman, Investor AB.
ABB India presents some of its path breaking projects and solutions at the Make in India Week, including the world’s first multi terminal ultra-high voltage direct current link that will bring power to more 90 million people. The locally engineered solar pump drive that makes irrigation for farmers, grid independent and the world’s first truly collaborative robot, YuMi, are also on display at the exposition.

From the world’s first canal top solar power plant to setting up the largest SCADA network for a state’s electricity network serving ~18.2 million consumers, and piloting the first urban multisource microgrid in new Delhi, ABB has had many firsts in India. Present in the country for more than a century, ABB has, over the last six decades, built a manufacturing base of 12 location with 39 plants and established one of its largest corporate research centers in the world in Bangalore.
