To cater to demand of 4G compatible devices in India, the leading smartphone brand in India Samsung has launched today 4G variant of its latest flagship, Galaxy S5 in India. Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S5 3G was launched in April 2014 in the country. The price of Galaxy S5 4G is Rs. 53,500 and will be available from 20th July onwards in 4G service enabled markets in India. This smartphone will be available in Copper Gold, Charcoal Black and Shimmery White colour options.
The Galaxy S5 4G is powered by the Qualcomm 8974 Pro 2.5 Ghz processor and supports eight 4G LTE bands. The 3G version of Galaxy S5 is driven by a Samsung Exynos processor. The 4G variant incorporates all the features of 3G S5, and in addition, the 4G version of S5 has a bouquet of other features such as Download Booster and Wi-Fi MIMO, which make the S5 a perfect 4G device for multimedia usage.
According to Samsung, the Download Booster lets users access 4G and Wi-Fi simultaneously to give an unrivalled network experience. Consumers can simultaneously download files by turning on the 4G and Wi-Fi together and experience faster speed with combined network. For instance, if 4G speeds are at 8mbps and Wi-Fi speeds is 4mbps, then it can give upto 80-90% of combined 12mbps speeds of 4G and Wi-Fi.
Samsung further claims that Galaxy S5 is the world’s first smartphone with Wi-Fi MIMO, making it the world’s fastest Wi-Fi Smartphone. The 5th generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 2X2 MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) technology equips Galaxy S5 with two internal Wi-Fi antennas to double the connection and accelerate the speed of Wi-Fi like never before.
To make the deal sweat, Samsung is all offering new and existing Airtel 4G subscribers 5GB of data free for two months with the purchase of Galaxy S5 4G. To encourage consumers to go in for S5 4G at a slightly lower price, Samsung is also providing an upgrade offer of Rs 10,000.
The other features of Galaxy S5 4G are the same as of its 3G variant such as 5.1-inch FHD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) display, 2GB of RAM plus 16GB internal memory, which can be expanded upto 64GB via microSD card. It runs on latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and is fuelled by a 2800mAh batter with the Ultra Power Saving Mode feature, which turns the display to black and white, and shuts down all unnecessary features to minimize the battery consumption. The Galaxy S5 4G is also equipped with a 16 megapixel rear camera,2.1 megapixel front camera. It also incoporates S Health 3.0 application and Finger scanner.
