Samsung has expanded its portfolio of Galaxy range of smartphones and has announced affordable four smatphones namely – Galaxy Core II, Galaxy Star 2, Galaxy Ace 4, and Galaxy Young 2. All these smartphones run Android KitKat 4.4 OS with Samsung’s own TouchWiz Essence UI on top. Samsung has not revealed the price and availability details of these four smartphones.
The Galaxy Core II features a 4.5-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) TFT display and is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, coupled with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded upo 64GB via microSD card. This phone also comes with a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and VGA front-facing camera. This phone is packed with a 2000mAh battery and for connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB and 3G. The Galaxy Core II will be available in Black and White color options.
The Galaxy Ace 4 is available in LTE and 3G versions. Both the variants have a 4.0 inch WVGA TFT display, 5-megapixel rear camera, and VGA front camera. The LTE variant is equipped with 1GB of RAM, while the 3G variant comes with 512MB of RAM. The Galaxy Ace 4 LTE is driven by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and is fuelled by a 1800mAh battery. On the other hand, the 3G variant is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and is packed with a 1500mAh battery. For connectivity, both the variants support Bluetooth4.0, WiFi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, and will be available in Iris Charcoal, Classic White colors.
The Galaxy Young 2 features a 3.5-inch HVGA TFT display, 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB inbuilt storage with provision of expanding it upto 32GB via microSD card. It has 3-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera, 1300mAh battery, and the connectivity options include Bluetooth4.0, WiFi b/g/n. It will also be available in Iris Charcoal and White colors.
Lastly, the Galaxy Star 2 comes with 3.5-inch HVGA display, SC6815A (single-core A7 1.0GHz) processor, 512MB RAM + 4GB (ROM), microSD card for expanding the storage upto 32GB, 2MP fixed focus camera and 1300mAh battery. For connectivity, this phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi b/g/n. This will also be available in White, Iris Charcoal colors. The Galaxy Star 2 comes with eight downloadable Gameloft games.
The Galaxy Core II, Galaxy Star 2, and Galaxy Young 2 support DUAL-SIM, whereas the Galaxy Ace 4 is Single Sim phone, and all the phones feature FM radio.
