Following its own established trend to come with mini version of the flagship device, Samsung has launched today Galaxy S5 mini smartphone, which is the mini variant of its latest premium Galaxy S5 smartphone. Samsung has not disclosed the price of Galaxy S5 mini, but has announced that it will be rolled-out in Russia starting early July, followed by launch in other global markets. Like the flagship S5, the mini version will also be available in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold.
The Galaxy S5 mini sports a 4.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display, and is driven by a Quad Core 1.4 GHz processor, paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The Galaxy S5 mini is equipped with an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2.1-megapixel front camera. This smartphone run on Android KitKat 4.4 OS, and is fulelled by a 2100mAh battery.
For connectivity, the S5 mini supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, USB 2.0, A-GPS + GLONASS, IR Remote. This smartphone measures 131.1 x 64.8 x 9.1mm, and weighs 120g.
The S5 mini incorporates all the key features of Galaxy S5 such as heart rate sensor, fingerprint scanner, private mode/ kids mode, Ultra Power Saving Mode. The S5 mini can be synced with the Samsung wearable devices and is also dust and water proofed (IP67 certified).

As far as India is concerned, the Galaxy S5 is officially priced at Rs. 51,500, but is available at Rs. 35,000 at flipkart. It will be seen with great interest how Samsung will price S5 mini in India to lure the customers to buy the mini variant of S5.
