Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona in February – is approaching fast and ahead of this annual carnival of mobility, many rumors have started surfacing and majority of them are going to be reality next month. As usual, this year also MWC will be dominated by world-leader like Samsung, where they are expected to launch new range of smartphones and tablets.
Samsung has confirmed rumors that it is set to launch a new 8-inch tablet at next month’s Mobile World Congress. It is speculated to have an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It is expected to sport a 5 megapixel rear camera, and 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.This tablet will run the latest version of Android (4.2 Jelly Bean) out of the box and will be competitively priced to challenge the iPad Mini head on. Samsung’s 8-inch tablet is expected to be retailed for less than $300 when it goes on sale.
Another rumor floating on tech blogs is that Samsung is gearing up to launch a 5.8-inch device based on its Galaxy Player 5.8, to be branded as Galaxy Fonbelt. This device will be a fully-functioning Android smartphone with dual SIM support and an SD slot for memory expansion. This phone will have a bigger screen than the Galaxy Note II phablet and will be unveiled at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona in February.
Another rumor being churned out very fast is that Samsung will be showcasing their flagship Galaxy S IV smartphone, which will support wireless charging, and will feature a 4.99 inch Super AMOLED display with full-HD resolution, 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera, Android Jelly Bean, Exynos 5 Octa chipset and an S-Pen stylus.
Besides Samsung, Sony has also confirmed that they will be showcasing their new 10-inch Xperia Z tablet in MWC , which they have launched in Japan. This tablet has a full HD 10.1-inch display, a quad-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage and like the new flagship Xperia Z smartphone it is water-resistant.
